A Steady Presence in Difficult Moments

I believe people make their best decisions when they feel heard.

Throughout my career — first as an educator training student mediators, and now as a family law mediator — I have been drawn to creating space for thoughtful dialogue, even in emotionally charged situations.

My role is not to pressure or persuade.
It is to listen carefully, guide respectfully, and help both individuals recognize where common ground exists.

Children remain central.
Dignity remains intact.
The future remains possible.

Professional Background

Joshua S. Mayesh is a licensed California attorney and trained mediator dedicated to thoughtful conflict resolution.

Before focusing exclusively on family mediation, he designed and led a year-long peer mediation program within a public high school. For over a decade, he trained students to serve as mediators under supervision, oversaw more than 100 cases, and maintained a 96% agreement rate.

That experience shaped a philosophy grounded in patience, neutrality, accountability, and sustainable resolution.

Philosophy

Family conflict does not need to become adversarial to be resolved.

Accountability, clarity, and respectful dialogue can coexist.

When given structure and space, many families are capable of building agreements that reflect both responsibility and compassion — especially when children are involved.
